After the summer off, we were glad to be back entertaining you. Tim and I had a wonderful trip in July in Boston visiting the family. Then off to Alaska and Costa Rica in August before returning in September, quite tired from all the trips. But it was worth seeing spectacular scenery both in Alaska and Costa Rica. We had a great turnout at our September show . Bobby started with “It’s so nice to be with you” and it was great seeing you after two months off. He included “September Morn” in his set, appropriate for the month. I sang “September in the Rain” another great September song. Tim and I sang one of his favorites by the Moody Blues “Wildest Dream” and we did a super duet written by Bobby Darin “Things”. See you for more great music in October.

We had a great time at our first After Dark performance at Aviary Rec Center. We had 100 people show up with all tables filled. Bobby started the dancing out with some great tunes, like “Can’t take my eyes off you” and he had everyone “Tossin and Turning’ on the dance floor! Mr. and Mrs. (Tim and Donna) livened things up with “Come Dance with Me” , “Trickle Trickle” (always a crowd pleaser) and a great disco number “Heaven Knows”. We’ll do it again in the fall.

Great show by Bobby, Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Francis. We started the afternoon off with some of Bobby’s favorite songs such as “Don’t let the sun catch you crying” by the Gerry and the Pacemakers, and a Ronettes favorite “Be my baby”. Next up was Mr. and Mrs. with a duet “A Rocking Good Way”. Tim sang a little know DION song called “She Bop” and Donna sang two songs with the same name: “Time after Time”.
Barbara finished the afternoon with many of her favorite singers. When she sang Connie Francis’ hit “Where the boys are” we were all surprised to see several of her men friends sporting a tee with her picture on it and logo: Barbara’s Boys! Luck her!

Bobby and Barbara's absence was truly felt during this performance, but it provided us with the opportunity to welcome my dear friend from LaLiPoP, Melody Gardner. We crossed paths in the POPs Chorus, and when Paul Holtzman suggested finding a few girls for some Andrew Sisters songs, I immediately thought of her. Melody is an exceptional entertainer, brimming with harmony and possessing a captivating performance voice.
The collaboration also allowed Tim and me to share our musical preferences. Tim leans towards DooWop, while I have a penchant for Jazz. It was a delightful exchange as he performed his favorites, and I sang mine. Thank you to everyone for your support. Next month, we look forward to having everyone back for a special AFTER DARK event.
September 7, 2023
Thanks for all who came out to our show. Bobby always starts off with some great songs. In tribute to Tony Bennett, he sang Tony’s signature song “ I left my heart in San Francisco”. Tim and Donna started with a rousing dance song by the Blues Brothers, “Chicago”. Donna sang “September in the Rain”, welcoming in the fall, and Tim sang two songs honoring the great Jimmy Buffett. Barbara finished the afternoon with her tribute to Connie Francis and Brenda Lee. She had us all teary eyed singing “Mama”.

What a great turnout at our August show! Standing room only! That means you better get there early for September.
Bobby started off with “Mountain of Love”, and ended with “What a Wonderful World”. There is so much good in this world we live in, especially here in the Villages. Donna sang a Rosemary Clooney hit, “In the cool cool of the evening”, and Tim woo’d everyone with “This I swear” a Skyliners hit, and ended with “Smoke gets in your eyes”! Barbara sang some great broadway hits by Barbara Streisand like “Second Hand Rose” and “My Man” and a great jazz hit “All of Me”.

Donna did a special tribute to her favorite singer, the Rock and Roll Queen of the 70’s, Linda Ronstadt. Bobby sang song that were important to him during his career. Another fun afternoon of music. Barbara gave us a treat by sing “Me and Bobby mcgee”, complete with flowers in her hair and a tambourine! Bobby seems to get a-lot more fan mail than we do! He’s always playing his “Letters” theme and then singing something that was requested! This time it was “Paint me a Birmingham”, and then of course there were “Bobby’s Girls”. Tim sang his favorite Doowop song “Oh what a night” and we did our first country song together “Remember When”, a sweet song about a a couple reminiscing about days gone by.
May 5, 2022
Donna Francis, Bobby V, and Barbara Petrizzo
Bobby started the show with “It’s Not Unusual”, a Tom Jones hit from the 60’s. Then his whole set followed the letter theme, “I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter”, “Love Letters in the sand”, and “Return to Sender” among others. Tim had to miss the performance, being sick with COVID! I had found that out at the show!. We had just come back from a live performance from Diana Krall, so I sang one of her songs “I don’t know enough about you”. Barbara sang a song dedicated to her significant other, “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me”, a Gladys Knight favorite. All in all it was a good time, but we did miss Tim. By the way, I never got sick!

Bobby is a great entertainer as you all know. He did a great Bobby Rydell medley, in memory of a great 60’s heart throb. Tim and I sang some songs about dreams: “Chapel of Dreams” and “In Dreams”! And Barbara did a great job with “Gee Whiz”.

Tim and Donna Francis, Bobby V, and Barbara Petrizzo
Another great show at Moyer. Bobby sang some great songs, I particularly liked the slow version of “Breaking Up is hard to do”, Neil Sedaka’s number 1 hit, and a great 1986 tune “At this Moment”, a Billy Vera hit. You may remember it from the TV show “Family Ties”. Tim and I had everyone dancing to the crazy dances of the 60’s like the Bristol Stop, Was Watusi, Stroll and Mashed Potato. Barbara sang her favorite hits…Gee Whiz, Hold me Thrill Me, and Linda Ronstadt’s hit Ooo Ooo Baby. Oh and you missed the Bobby Soxers - take a look at our latest email for Bobby’s new fan club.

Another wonderful afternoon of music. This time we focused on romantic love. Tim welcomed everyone in the room to “Walk right in and sit right down”, the Rooftop Singers hit. Bobby started with songs you never knew were about love, like “Running Scared”, and “Little Green Apples” . And he fooled us again with his “Letter’s, I’ve got Letter’s “ theme. I love that segment! Tim and I told stories about crushes we had in our life, like on my music teacher and his French teacher! We did a duet with “Sea of Love”. And of course he had everyone dancing to “Trickle, Trickle”. I finished with Etta James version of “At Last”. Unfortunately Barbara was not with us, recuperating from a bug. But she’ll be back next month for another fun after noon of music.
January 6, 2022
Tim and Donna Francis, Bobby V, and Barbara Petrizzo
Wow, we had a great time kicking off 2022! Its gonna be a great year of entertainment for you. As Bobby V said, even though inflation is at a 6% rate, our price will remain the same for an afternoon of great entertainment, FREE!
A big thank you for all who attended our show. Bobby started off traveling to great destinations like “New York, New York”, “I Left my Heart in San Francisco”, and “Viva Las Vegas”. Especially touching was his rendition of “Weekend in New England”, reminiscing the time he and Norma (his girlfriend at the time) travelled to NE for a memorable weekend. Tim and Donna were up next to share their New Years resolution to dance more: “Come Dance with Me”, and “Save the Last Dance for Me”. And the audience responding with many dancing in the back of the room! We are so happy that Barbara Petrizzo is joining us as a regular performer each month. Barbara shared with us songs by her favorite singers who inspired her, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, and Crystal Gale. She sang their big hits like “All Alone am I”, “Who’s Sorry Now”, and “Don’t it make my brown eyes blue”. Bring your friends next month to our free show on February 3, 2022!
December 2, 2021
What a great time we had at our last show of the year! It was our Christmas party and Tim started off with distributing some delicious Christmas cookies,. Bobby started off the fun with "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Run, Run, Rudolph", a Chuck Berry rockin' tune, Tim sang his famous rendition of "Feliz Navidad", (the song that never ends). We both did that 40's tune "Baby it's cold outside", remembering our snowing days in Boston. Then I brought Barbara Petrizzo up and we sang "Sisters" from the 1954 movie "White Christmas"!
Jeri Lynne Fraser was a big hit with the audience. What a blessing it is to have this caliber of talent in our community. She started with a Sinatra tune, then moved to Queen's big hit "Crazy Little Thing called love", showing us her versatility. Then moved to Gene Pitney's most recognizable song "Town with out pity". Did you know they were childhood friends, growing up in Connecticut?
Tell your friends about us and subscribe to our newsletter! Have a blessed holiday season and happy new year!

And you missed his tale about taking the Montroe twins to the prom and how one of them got her shoe caught in the gym's basketball net! But I won't go there!
I was under the weather, just returning from a trip to Boston, so Tim filled in with his great DooWop tunes. But we did sing one duet, "Islands in the Stream" by The Bee Gees.
